Poll body demands action over false claims on Sanjay Singh's wife's voter status

India Today

The Election Commission on Thursday asked the Delhi Police to register cases against two people for claiming that Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh's wife Anita Singh had shifted from Delhi. The election body requested the Station House Officer of the Tilak Nagar Police Station to register cases against two people, Suresh Devi and Madhu, who had filed applications seeking the deletion of Anita Singh's name from the voter list. Earlier on Thursday, Sanjay Singh sent a legal notice to BJP leaders Amit Malviya and Manoj Tiwari over their allegations that Anita Singh had registered herself as a voter in Delhi as well as in Uttar Pradesh's Sultanpur. However, neither my name nor my wife, Anita Singh's name, is on the Sultanpur electoral roll," he said.
