Left parties will jointly contest the next Assembly polls: CPI
Deccan ChronicleHYDERABAD: CPI state secretary Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao said that CPI and CPM would jointly contest the upcoming Assembly polls in Telangana. Admitting that they had committed a blunder by aligning with different parties in the 2018 Assembly polls, the once-bitten-twice-shy Rao said that this would not be repeated in the coming Assembly elections in the state. While CPI was part of a 'grand alliance' comprising Congress, TD and TJS in 2018, CPM was part of Bahujan Left Front, comprising 28 political, social and minority organisations led by the CPM. BRS president and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, while addressing a public meeting in Munugode, had announced that their friendship with Left parties was not confined to Munugode but would continue into the future.
