O.G. Anunoby’s next deal, Gradey Dick’s fit and more: Raptors mailbag, Part 2
New York TimesIn the first part of this mailbag, I leaned toward big-picture questions. • Jett Howard, 11th pick, Orlando: 3 games 13.3 PPG, 40 3P%, 3.3 APG, 2.7 TO/G • Gradey Dick, 13th pick, Toronto: 4 games 16.0 PPG, 29.6 3P%, 6.0 RPG, 2.8 TO/G • Jordan Hawkins, 14th pick, New Orleans: 5 games, 12.8 PPG, 25.0 3P%, 5.2 RPG, 3.2 TO/G • Kobe Bufkin, 15th pick, Atlanta: 5 games, 14.0 PPG, 13.8 3P%, 3.6 APG, 4.6 TO/G • Keyonte George: 16th pick, Utah: 3 games, 21.7 PPG, 44.4 3P%, 6.3 APG, 2.3 TO/G • Jalen Hood-Schifino, 17th pick, L.A. Lakers: 4 games, 11.8 PPG, 35.7 3P%, 4.3 RPG, 1.0 TO/G George had a great few games in Vegas, obviously. • Two-year contract for Schröder: TBD • Losing VanVleet in free agency, not trading him at deadline: D • Drafting Dick 13th overall: TBD They’re probably in the C range as a whole. Factoring in Barnes’ club option and Christian Koloko’s non-guaranteed deal, both for the 2024-25 season, the Raptors would have about $65 million committed to Barnes, Poeltl, Koloko, Jalen McDaniels, Dick, Boucher and Schröder. It’s also probably not realistic that you can get those for players set to enter free agency next year, but last summer’s Jazz trades, among other deals, did some weird things to expectations.
