Tambaram city police take measures to reduce congestion on GST road near Kilambakkam bus stand

The Hindu

Tambaram city police have introduced a series of measures to reduce traffic congestion on Grand Southern Trunk Road near Kalaignar Centenary Bus Terminus at Kilambakkam. Traffic congestion was being witnessed often on the opposite side of the bus terminus as long distance buses stopped here and passengers would get stranded on the road either for autos or taxis. Samay Singh Meena, Deputy Commissioner of Police, traffic, Tambaram City Police, said: “We have taken steps to reduce congestion on GST road on the opposite side of the KCBT. The CMDA officials also are installing ANPR cameras for safety purpose.” Police said the autos are allowed to take passengers from the KCBT side where they have an authorised auto stand.
