Spotify Now Has Over 138 Million Paid Subscribers Worldwide

Spotify Technology said on Wednesday music streaming demand had rebounded from coronavirus-related weakness at the start of the quarter and its paid subscribers reached 138 million, ahead of Wall Street estimates. Analysts on average were expecting the company to have 136.4 million paid subscribers, according to IBES data from Refinitiv. Spotify also forecast total revenue in the range of EUR 1.85 billion to EUR 2.05 billion for the third quarter. The net loss attributable to Spotify was EUR 356 million, or EUR 1.91 per share, compared with 76 million or 42 euro cents a year earlier.
