Greene King celebrates Christmas cracker

The Telegraph

Greene King celebrated a bumper festive season and record Christmas Day after milder temperatures coaxed more Britons to venture out to the pub. Greene King operates almost 2,800 pubs and makes popular beers such as Greene King IPA, Abbot Ale and Old Speckled Hen at its Bury St Edmunds and Dunbar breweries. The company's sharp sales rise replicated that of pub-only operator Stonegate, which last week said turnover in the second half of December had swelled by 12pc. While Mr Anand was grateful for some elements outside of his control he said Greene King’s performance was also a product of its own making.
