AI-powered security measures rolled out by Mysuru division of SWR
In a first for the country and in a major step towards enhancing passenger safety and communication, the Mysuru division of South Western Railway has rolled out advanced security measures incorporating face recognition and Video Analytic Systems to provide alerts on real time-basis. This apart, a modern digital communication system was also commissioned with Voice over Internet Protocol-based Train Control System, at 34 stations in Mysuru division, said Mr. Sreenivasulu. The Video Analytics System would use AI to detect suspicious activities, unattended baggage, crowd movement pattern, and automates threat detection, thus reducing manual monitoring efforts resulting in improved response time. The Integrated Command Control System would serve as the central hub for monitoring railway surveillance, consolidating feeds from multiple stations, providing real-time alerts and seamless coordination with security agencies for enhanced railway safety.
