Security tightened around Big temple in Thanjavur

Thanjavur: Security around Big temple here has been beefed up following decision taken by Tamil Nadu government to increase security around important places like world monuments in the wake of recent bomb blasts in Sri Lanka. A team of police officials led by Vasanthan, DSP,, Tamil Nadu police visited the Big temple on Friday and checked the security arrangements. AT SWAMIMALAI ALSO A police team led by Nagaraj, CB-CID inspector checked the security arrangements at Swaminathaswamy temple at Swamimalai near Kumbakonam. The team checked the surveillance cameras, places where principal deities are kept, Vasantha Mandapam, places where Hundiyals are installed, temple office etc.
