Keeping tab on post-attack developments: Election Commission

The Election Commission of India is keeping a tab on developments in the country post the Pulwama terror attack and the government response to it in form of air strikes, a top poll panel official said on Tuesday. Election Commissioner Ashok Lavasa, speaking to reporters here, said the ECI is duty-bound to carry out the mandate given to it by the Constitution. Asked if the the ECI is seriously mulling imposing a ban on print media on taking "Even in the conference of political parties held last year, this issue had come up. "Political parties also mentioned that all newly registered voters should be helped in getting their photo identity cards as quickly as possible," he said.
