Actor Aditi Rao Hydari, who portrayed Bibbojaan, a dancer and clandestine freedom fighter in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Netflix series Heeramandi, recently shared her experience working with the celebrated filmmaker, often described by his actors as a demanding taskmaster. She revealed that Bhansali used unconventional methods, including keeping her “hangry,” to bring out her best performance for the "rousing scenes." In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Aditi shared that Bhansali starved her for an entire day to help her perfect emotionally charged scenes. The 38-year-old actor further explained, "I was struggling with these scenes, and he would tease me, saying, ‘If I ask her to give a rousing scene, she’ll turn it into a shringaar scene.’ So he said, ‘Don’t eat,’ and that’s how it happened.” Aditi also discussed her challenging experience performing Kathak for Heeramandi, which caused her sleepless nights.
