Delay in NPKL work: Suresh Kumar walks out of meeting

The Hindu

Opposition MLA and former Urban Development Minister S. Suresh Kumar walked out of the meetings of the Petitions Committee of the State Legislature, protesting the explanation given by Bangalore Development Authority over the delay in the work at Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Layout. In a long post on social media, Mr. Suresh Kumar said when quizzed over the delay in provision of basic infrastructure at NPKL, nine years after the sites were allotted, “a BDA official said that I was being misled by those who have bought 20x30 sites, which angered me, pushing me to walk out of the meeting”. Mr. Kumar further pointed out that in 2023, BDA had taken a year’s time to complete work at NPKL and failed to meet the deadline and was categorised by Real Estate Regulatory Authority also as a defaulter. Sources said the committee has now decided to do a spot inspection of both NPKL and Dr. Shivaram Karanth Layout to see for themselves the progress of the civil works taken up by BDA in both the layouts.
