Pune: Health officials aim to fully vaccinate 70% of population in district by December-end
India TodayAmidst growing concern over the spread of the Omicron variant of Coronavirus, Pune health officials have set the target to vaccinate 70 per cent of the population with the second dose of Covid-19 vaccine by the end of December. Sanjay Deshmukh, Assistant Director, Pune Circle, stated that the rate of the second dose of vaccination was at 65 per cent, which translated to 55.74 lakh population out of the 83.42 lakh to have completed both the doses of vaccination. Ayush Prasad, CEO of Pune Zila Parishad, said that "Few pockets in the district are lagging in the completion of the first dose despite crossing the 100 per cent mark on first dose vaccination across the district.
