Possible snow and icy conditions expected across the Netherlands

The Netherlands is bracing for hazardous weather conditions as light snow and freezing temperatures are forecast over the weekend. While Saturday will remain mostly dry, the evening and overnight hours bring an increased risk of icy roads in various areas, according to KNMI. The KNMI has issued a "code geel" warning for snow and icy conditions, effective from Saturday evening through Sunday morning, especially in the west and southwest of the Netherlands. Sunday morning could see icy conditions in the southern half of the country due to the freezing of residual moisture on the roads. By Sunday evening, conditions will remain dry with little cloud cover, but temperatures are expected to fall quickly, leading to freezing conditions throughout the country.
