Britain celebrate their best day of the Olympics
Daily MailTeam GB enjoyed a fantastic Friday at the Paris Olympics with three gold medals in a thrilling three hours. Britain added another two silvers in swimming during the evening, as Ben Proud finished second in the 50m freestyle and Duncan Scott was runner-up to Leon Marchand in the 200m individual medley, the French poster boy claiming his fourth gold of his home Games. Meanwhile, Team GB were hoping to add another gold medal to Friday's incredible collection with Bethany Shriever looking set to defend her women's Olympic BMX title after flying through the heats. Great Britain now sits in third place in the medal table with nine gold medals on the seventh day of the games, taking their tally to 27 overall. Away from Team GB there was horror in the pool on Friday morning after Slovakian athlete Tamara Potocka collapsed following a swim in the 200m medley heats.
