Daniel Harding conducts the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra: Rachmaninov, Janáček and Debussy
ABCMusic Director Daniel Harding leads the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra in an explosive program of colour and light. Celebrated Norwegian pianist Leif Ove Andsnes joins the orchestra for a performance of Rachmaninov’s fiendishly difficult blockbuster – his third Piano Concerto, followed by two orchestral masterpieces: Janáček’s Taras Bulba and Debussy’s La Mer. Czech composer Leoš Janáček found himself drawn to stories from eastern Europe throughout his lifetime, drawing on Russian literature for many of his compositions, including his rhapsody Taras Bulba. 33/2 Leoš Janáček: Taras Bulba Claude Debussy: La Mer, L. 109 Artists Leif Ove Andsnes, piano Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra Daniel Harding, conductor
