How UNESCO MGIEP is helping us achieve the UN Education goals using socio-emotional learning tools
India TodayThe Sustainable Development Goal by the United Nations are global ambitions and intergovernmental commitment to achieve certain targets by 2030. Ideals of SDG 4.7 The Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development, an integrated part of UNESCO, is helping us achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goal 4.7 for Education by 2030. The main targets of the Education goal are: Global citizenship education Education for sustainable development These aims will be achieved through various levels of: National education policies Curricula Teacher education Student assessment How MGIEP is charting the educational progress of 22 Asian countries 22 Asian countries are covered under the goal of achieving Sustainable Development by 2030. A project 'Rethinking Schooling' was launched by United National Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation Mahatma Gandhi Institution of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development with the UNESCO Asia and Pacific Regional Bureau for Education in 2016-17. A science-policy pacesetter with over 33 years experience, he now plays an important role in positioning UNESCO MGIEP as a leading research institute on education for peace, sustainable development and global citizenship.
