Actor Vijay gets 'Y' security cover, BJP asks why DMK didn't do so on its own

India Today

The Ministry of Home Affairs has granted actor-politician, Vijay, the chief of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, 'Y' category security in Tamil Nadu. In a notification issued by the Union Home Ministry on February 13, eight to 11 CRPF personnel, along with one or two commandos, will be with Vijay round-the-clock as per the 'Y' security coverage. Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai questioned the ruling DMK government for not having the foresight to provide the security detail. "The central government has given CRPF security to Opposition leader EPS, regardless of whether the AIADMK is in alliance with the BJP or not," Annamalai said. When there is a security threat, whenever huge crowds come together, why didn't the state government come forward and give him security?
