Read our privacy policy Andy Farrell will coach the British & Irish Lions on the 2025 tour to Australia. “It is a tremendous honour and a privilege to be named head coach of The British & Irish Lions,” Farrell said ahead of his unveiling in London. Andy Farrell led Ireland to a Six Nations grand slam last year He stepped up into Stuart Lancaster’s England staff in 2012, but departed with the rest of the coaching group after a pool stage exit at the 2015 World Cup. He takes the role with the blessing of the Irish Rugby Football Union, with performance director David Nucifora confirming last year that he would be “ecstatic” if Farrell was appointed.
