Lockdown 4.0: Weddings allowed with 50 guests, social distancing
India TodayIndia on Sunday extended the coronavirus-induced nationwide lockdown till May 31, as its Covid-19 cases exceeded 90,000. Hours before India's lockdown, introduced on March 25 and extended three times, was due to expire at midnight on Sunday, the Ministry of Home Affairs issues a set of guidelines for the lockdown 4.0. While the government has relaxed many restrictions, many others have not been changed since they were tweaked or relaxed for the people in the lockdown 3.0 guidelines including the number of guests at weddings. According to the lockdown 4.0 guidelines, weddings are now allowed with not more than 50 guests. The Union Home Ministry said the fresh guidelines for the fourth phase of the nationwide lockdown were issued after taking the views of the state governments following a video conference held by Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the chief ministers on May 11.
