Students encouraged to alert district administration on child-related problems

Virudhunagar District Child Protection Unit has been distributing 1.37 lakh post cards containing awareness messages on children’s welfare and their safety to all school students across the district. Virudunagar District Child Protection Officer Arulselvi said that printed on the post cards were messages on child marriage, sexual harassment, school drop-outs and child labour and other children-related problems with contact numbers of the officers. “The post cards were handed over to the Virudhunagar district Chief Educational Officer some 10 days back. Besides, they can also post the post cards providing details of problems they face to the District Child Protection Unit,” Ms. Arulselvi said.
