Man and son, among three, held for 93 mobile thefts in Bengaluru

The Mahadevapura police have arrested a bike service station attendant and his associate, an autorishaw driver, and recovered 93 mobile phones, which they had stolen from people moving in and around Whitefield area. The police tracked down the duo moving on a motorcycle near a private hospital and recovered two mobile phones from them. The accused have been identified as Mohammed Ahmed Salman, 24, a class 7 dropout who was working as an attendant at a bike service station, and his associate Sajid Ahmed, 30, an autorickshaw driver. The accused would give the stolen goods to Mohammed Umar Farooq, 49, a junk shop owner and Salman’s father, who would sell the phones to his contacts for a price of ₹1,000 to ₹2,000, the police said.
