PMSSY block to be inaugurated at SCTIMST
The HinduThe new block of Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, constructed under Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana, will be inaugurated by the Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare J.P. Nadda and Minister of State for Science and Technology and Ministry of Earth Sciences Jitendra Singh, on Thursday. The new hospital building under PMSSY is a significant step in infrastructure development for SCTIMST, where space constraints were beginning to get in the way of facility expansion as well as patient care. The new block in nine floors and a built-up area of over 2.70 lakh sq ft, will house several centres of clinical excellence and include nine sophisticated operating theatres, MRI & CT scan facilities, three Cath labs, a Sleep Study unit, an Echocardiography suite, a non-invasive Cardiology evaluation suite, and other advanced neuro-cardiac care services. The centrally air-conditioned building will also have additional space for patient care, with 170 beds, including 130 beds dedicated to Intensive Care Unit services.
