€1 billion pushed into stimulating housing construction may have achieved little

NL Times

The 1 billion euros the central government gave municipalities in 2020 and 2021 to stimulate housing construction may have had little to no effect. The Ministry of Home Affairs and Kingdom Relations says that the Residential Construction Impulse yielded almost 140,000 homes. "Without the government contribution, those homes might also have been built," Ewout Irrgang of the Court of Audit said to NOS. He said that the Residential Construction Impulse would remain an important part of government policy, also to give municipalities more certainly in the long term.
