Nine kanwariyas electrocuted in Bihar
The HinduNine kanwariyas were electrocuted and six others were injured after they came in contact with a high-voltage overhead wire in Bihar’s Vaishali district. The incident took place on Sunday at 11.40 p.m. near Sultanpur village under the Industrial Police Station in which eight were electrocuted and one kanwariya died at government hospital, while six were seriously burnt. Hajipur Sub-Divisional Police Officer Om Prakash said the accident took place when the procession of kanwariyas moved around 500 meters away from the village and a DJ-mounted trolley came in contact with overhead wire of 11000 high tension wire. blamed Family members of the deceased expressed anger over the Electricity department alleging when the incident took place several calls were made to the department, however nobody picked up the call. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed grief over the incident and said he prayed to God to give strength to the family members of the deceased to bear the pain in this hour of grief.
