Political parties, including AAP and SDPI, join chorus demanding immediate polls for MCC

A host of political parties, including Aam Aadmi Party, Social Democratic Party of India, Bahujan Samaj Party, and Karnataka Rakshana Samithi have now joined the chorus seeking elections to Mysuru City Corporation. At a press conference convened by the MCC Elections Struggle Committee in Mysuru on Sunday, AAP leader ‘Mukhyamantri’ Chandru came down heavily on the proposed Greater Mysore City Corporation that is widely believed to be the reason for the indefinite postponement of the polls to the civic body. The MCC Elections Struggle Committee had been arguing that the delay in holding elections for the civic body was denying the citizens the benefit of having their representative in the MCC Council to attend to their civic problems. SDPI leader Abdul Majeed, retired professor of the University of Mysore Nanjaraj Urs, BSP leader S. Nagaiah, KRS leader Somasundar, and others, including activists Siddaraju Sosale, Suresh Babu, and Aravind Sharma, were present at the press conference.
