Scout’s take Part II: Dissecting the building blocks among Charlotte’s starters

When scanning the birthdays of the Hornets’ starting five, all it takes is a quick glimpse at the last two numbers to get a true indicator of where things currently stand. In this second installment, the scout assesses PJ Washington, Miles Bridges, Devonte’ Graham and Terry Rozier. “I’m an old-school guy so same reason I said I like the Martin brothers is why I like Miles — because he plays his butt off. And you just have to continue to build your culture around guys like that.” Rozier, tied with Graham as the team’s leading scorer, is posting career highs in points, assists and steals per game and has one of the highest percentages of makes on catch-and-shoot 3-pointers in the league. Plays harder on defense when he has great named matchups.” As for the guy who participated in the Rising Stars Challenge and the 3-point contest during All-Star weekend after bursting onto the national scene as a candidate for the league’s most improved player, the scout believes there is a lot to like despite his dip in production.
