Albanese understands Hume Hwy bypass worries

The federal Minister for Transport says he understands the frustration of Riverina land-holders affected by planned Hume Highway bypasses. But nonetheless, this is an important economic infrastructure project and it's also important for all the residents of these towns," he said. "Council will be very keen to ensure that we don't get a second class bypass around the townships of Woomargama and Holbrook," he said. Mr Albanese says the bypasses will take up to 2,700 trucks out of the towns and cut transport times between Sydney and Melbourne.
