Harmony and good eduation: Kejriwal's blueprint for a progressive India

India Today

Addressing the nation's capital on Independence Day, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal asserted that harmony, good education, accessible healthcare, and uninterrupted power supply are the crucial requirements for India to become 'vishwaguru' or world leader. FOCUS ON REFORM AND ACCESS TO QUALITY EDUCATION Kejriwal lamented the condition of government schools, saying, "Unless every child gets good education, the country cannot become 'vishwaguru'." ANTICIPATED CHALLENGES AND KEJRIWAL'S RESPONSE Despite facing criticism for free provision of public services, Kejriwal stood his ground and offered the public a choice: providing 200 units of free electricity costing Rs 1.5 lakh crore, or giving loan waivers to billionaires. He estimated that Rs 10,000 crore would be required to open one lakh Mohalla Clinics around the country, providing free healthcare to all.
