Sheena Bora case: Hefty bail condition, approver remains in jail, seeks changes

Shyamvar Rai, one of the accused-turned-approvers in the Sheena Bora murder case, has approached the Bombay High court again while seeking a relaxation in the bail conditions. However, Rai's plea, filed through advocates Satyavrat Joshi and Nitesh Mohite, stated that he has not been able to comply with such a "hefty" surety condition and thus seeks provisional cash bail. Rai's plea stated that the high court had already come to the conclusion that he should be granted bail, but because of the condition imposed, he was still languishing in Thane Central prison. Rai had turned approver in the case and alleged that he was in the car when Mukerjea and Khanna throttled Sheena to death before disposing of her remains in the jungles of Pen.
