India TodayBJP leader Suvendu Adhikari on Tuesday said if the saffron party came to power in West Bengal, it would send Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to jail for arresting the women in Sandeshkhali for protesting against the alleged misdeeds by local Trinamool Congress leaders. He claimed that the Trinamool Congress government framed false charges against protesting women in Sandeshkhali and said Banerjee's visit to the village was "just an attempt to repair the damage done". Adhikari also claimed that the BJP had won from Nandigram in the 2021 Assembly polls and from Tamluk in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections "with consolidated Hindu votes", and said this "momentum will continue". MAMATA BANERJEE VISITS SANDESHKHALI On Monday, Banerjee visited Sandeshkhali on her first trip in the wake of allegations of sexual harassment and land grabbing by local Trinamool Congress leaders and accused the BJP and other opposition parties of spending "huge money" to spread fake news about the hamlet.
