If I were Chiefs GM Brett Veach: Laying out a road map for the offseason
New York TimesNFL teams are a lot like sharks when it comes to the offseason. Last season, the Chiefs’ primary focus was to “run it back,” try and bring back the same team that had won the Super Bowl a year earlier and become one of the rare teams in history to go back to back. Much like receiver, there’s a “top-end” group of defensive ends hitting the market who likely will be too expensive for Kansas City, but there’s a second tier of available players who could miss out on a big payday and are looking for a one-year deal in order to hit free agency in a more friendly market. Ahead of free agency & the draft, Brett Veach shared the Chiefs’ top offseason priority.
