
This University In Karnataka Will Be Renamed After Former PM Manmohan Singh
ABP NewsKarnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, while presenting the state budget for 2025-26, announced that Bengaluru City University will be renamed as Dr Manmohan Singh Bengaluru City University. As part of this initiative, Government Arts College and Government RC College will become constituent colleges under the newly renamed university to enhance its academic offerings, as per a report on PTI. Addressing faculty shortages, the government has committed to filling 2,000 vacant teaching positions across government colleges, engineering institutions, and polytechnics, as per the report. In a significant push towards global exposure and industry-oriented education, Karnataka government will introduce the Chevening Karnataka Master’s Scholarship Programme, enabling female students to pursue studies in prestigious universities in England.
