Hyundai Motor Company, which entered the Indian market in 1996 incorporating Hyundai Motor India Ltd, believes that India has now emerged as a world-class automotive manufacturing and regional export hub for the carmaker. During a recent town hall meeting at HMIL headquarters in Gurugram, HMC President and CEO Jose Munoz said: "HMIL is the second-largest passenger vehicle maker in India, an important and growing market. HMIL has emerged as a world-class automotive manufacturing and regional export hub and is integral to Hyundai's global vision," Munoz observed. HMIL made its market debut in October last year in the largest initial public offering -- Rs 27,870 crore -- in India's history.
