A British factory worker who embarked on a 'suicide pact' with a 14-year-old Dutch girl before she killed herself has gone on trial for encouraging her death. British factory worker Christopher Ballard, 42, is standing trial for encouraging the death of a 14-year-old girl from the Netherlands who killed herself Ballard, of Bradford, West Yorkshire, was a shift worker at a plastics factory but claimed he worked in a hospital and had access to drugs, when he was in contact with the teenager between February 17 and March 3. Bradford Crown Court heard that Gina was found dead in the bathroom of her home by her mother on March 28, 2018, just over a month after posting her first message on Forum Jar In another chat she mentioned considering suicide and made reference to 'Chris from the UK who also wants to die'. Many of the messages, as well as Gina's original suicide pact post, flight schedules between Leeds Bradford Airport and Amsterdam International Airport, and a photograph of Ballard, were found in a folder on her phone after her death.
