The Congress party has cautioned the voters of Puducherry over the attempts being made by a lottery businessman to enter the electoral arena of the Union Territory. The former Chief Minister was referring to the recent events organised by businessman Charles Jose Martin, son of lottery baron Santiago Martin, in Puducherry with the support of three disgruntled BJP legislators and Independents supporting the BJP in the Puducherry Assembly. “People of the Union Territory have rejected money power in the Lok Sabha election and the Congress party was hopeful that they will reject the attempts being made now by economic offenders and power brokers to make a mark in the region’s electoral politics,” he said. The Chief Minister has to clear the doubts, since the BJP legislators and Independents supporting the government have made rebellious statements in the recent past, Mr. Narayanasamy said. Probe misdeeds of AINRC-BJP Reiterating corruption charges against the Chief Minister and other Ministers in Puducherry, Mr. Narayanasamy said if the Congress party returned to power in the Union Territory after the 2026 Assembly election, all the misdeeds of AINRC-BJP government would be probed.
