Rio 2016: Kenya ruled to have breached WADA rules, could be barred from Olympics

Kenya has been ruled to be in breach of World Anti-Doping Agency rules, a key decision which could lead to the country's athletes being barred from the Olympics. Rene Bouchard, chairman of WADA's compliance review committee, said Kenya's drug testing agency had been declared "non-compliant with immediate effect." Kenya has missed two WADA deadlines to show it is tackling doping, with IAAF president Sebastian Coe warning earlier this year the country's athletes could be barred from August's Olympics in Rio de Janeiro if they were deemed non-compliant. Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta signed a new anti-doping law on April 22, which it had been hoped would allow the African athletics powerhouse to be given the green light by WADA.
