Seven companies from Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province recently made the 2021 list of the World's Top 500 New Energy Companies released by China Energy News and the China Institute of Energy Economics. In 2020, the aggregate revenue of the top 500 new energy companies reached 4.41 trillion yuan, an increase of 184.5 billion yuan over the previous year, with a year-on-year growth of 4.5 percent. The excellent performance of the listed Chinese companies has been driven by factors like the robust growth momentum of the country's new energy sector and China's effective control of the COVID-19 epidemic, said Wei Qiuli, head of the China Institute of Energy Economics.
