Telangana Prisons DG asks officials to equip with new legal frameworks

Hyderabad: Telangana Prisons and Correctional Services, Director-General, Dr. Soumya Mishra, stressed the importance of adopting new legal frameworks and asked the prison officials to be well-equipped with implementing them effectively. She was speaking at the training session on “Sensitization of prison officials regarding New Criminal Laws - 2023 on prison-related matters” on Tuesday at the State Institute of Correctional Administration, Hyderabad. The initiative was aimed at providing prison officials with critical insights into the recently introduced criminal laws and the skills necessary for managing correctional facilities effectively. The training was organized in the backdrop of significant legislative changes introduced through three key laws - Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita - 2023, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita - 2023 and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam - 2023.
