The Railways has plans for establishing an additional platform at Tiruppur Railway Station. The requirement for the additional platform was considered factoring in the status of Tiruppur as an industrial hub, Pankaj Kumar Sinha, Divisional Railway Manager, Salem Division, said during the meeting of the DRUCC recently. The ₹22-crore upgrade project entails transforming Tiruppur station into a world-class transport hub, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and inclusive infrastructure for passengers and visitors. The project was initiated on August 6, 2023, in Tiruppur Railway Station as one among 25 stations brought under the scheme by Southern Railway.
