Opinion: Will AAP go the Byju's way?

In 2022, the world was his to conquer. Then there is Delhi, where the AAP still enjoys a 43 per cent vote share, which would be enough in most states to form a government. Yet, the saga of the AAP and Byju's and the journey traversed by both Raveendran and Kejriwal in the last one decade offers sobering lessons on leadership, governance, the ability to match delivery with promises, and ultimately the eternal message of comeuppance to those who start thinking: I can fool all the people all the time. Raveendran got millions of new consumers along with many breathless infusions of capital, while Kejriwal became the head honcho of a new political party that became an officially recognised national party in record time. Tens of thousands of parents realised their children with poor academic ability were “failed” in Class 9 exams so that the AAP would claim record high levels of pass percentage in class 10 board examinations.
