Major allocation for MGNREGS in Alathur block panchayat Budget
The HinduPalakkad’s Alathur block panchayat has introduced a paperless gender e-budget, as part of initiatives aimed at enhancing transparency and efficiency. A sum of ₹1,07,00,000 has been allocated for the productive sectors such as agriculture, dairy development, etc., ₹3,00,00,000 for the housing sector, ₹2,51,00,000 for the health sector, ₹25 lakh for carbon neutralisation of constituent institutions, ₹112 crore for the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, ₹54 lakh for fitness centres for women in all panchayats, and ₹50 lakh for happiness parks, playgrounds and open gymnasiums for the mental well-being of the elderly. A sum of ₹1.50 crore has been allocated for the infrastructure sector, ₹60 lakh allocated to make the block panchayat gender friendly and ₹20 lakh allocated to address the gaps identified by conducting gender audits in all constituent institutions. In order to better utilise new technologies in the field of work, education, and life, a project will be developed in collaboration with Kerala Institute of Local Administration to transform Alathur block panchayat into an Artificial Intelligence literacy block panchayat.
