Iqbal Mirchi and sons tried to extort more money from Dheeraj Wadhawan: ED
India TodayThe Enforcement Directorate, probing the case related to late underworld gangster and drug trafficker Iqbal Mirchi, has filed a chargesheet with the PMLA court in Mumbai. In the chargesheet, the ED has said that Iqbal Mirchi and his sons -- Junaid and Asif -- hankered for more money for the three properties they had sold to Dheeraj Wadhawan of DHFL. Iqbal Mirchi and his sons through their lawyer Advocate SK Srivastava sent multiple notices to Jayant Soni's Joy Home Creations Limited, Wadhawan's Sunblink Real Estate Ltd and Sir Mohd Yusuf Trust and also challenged the agreement between Joy Home Creations and Sunblink Real Estate Ltd. Humayun Merchant who had introduced himself as the representative of tenants of the three properties when the deal was being finalised, in the notices sent to Joy, Sunblink and Mohd Yusuf Trust introduced himself as constituted attorney of Iqbal Memon. It further reiterated on the bogus front created by Dheeraj Merchant on the three properties through his ring of bogus tenants to hoodwink the authorities and conceal Iqbal Mirchi's ownership. The notices issued in mid-2013 said the tenancies transferred to Joy Home Creations and Sunblink Real Estate Ltd were bogus as the tenancies belonged to Iqbal Mirchi's family.
