China to enhance AI education in primary, secondary schools
Xinhua | Updated: 2024-12-03 10:13 BEIJING -- China will enhance artificial intelligence education for its younger generations to prepare them for the emerging technology era, according to the Ministry of Education. The ministry has called for efforts to explore approaches to AI education in primary and secondary schools, emphasizing the need to cultivate creativity, scientific interest and digital skills among students. Schools have been asked to establish related curriculums, incorporate AI into routine teaching content and conduct regular evaluations, according to a circular released by the ministry. Authorities will encourage colleges, universities, research institutes and high-tech companies to open their AI labs and exhibition halls to primary and secondary school students.
