Army seeks vendors for manufacturing of 23mm anti-drone ammunition
India TodayThe Indian Army has issued a request for information seeking vendors to manufacture 23mm anti-drone ammunition under the “Make in India” initiative. Vendors are expected to submit their proposals under a “single stage-two bid system,” with separate technical and commercial bids. The proposals will undergo scrutiny by a technical evaluation committee, followed by field trials conducted on a “no-cost no commitment” basis. Proposals must be sent in sealed envelopes marked “23mm Anti-Drone Ammunition.” A senior Army official said, “This initiative reflects the Army’s commitment to addressing modern security challenges, particularly the growing threat posed by drones.” The effort is also part of the government’s “Atmanirbhar Bharat” vision, aimed at fostering indigenous innovation and reducing reliance on imports.
