Boeing 737 Max grounding: SpiceJet cancels 14 flights, offers full refund

Consequent to a Directorate General of Civil Aviation order, SpiceJet has started grounding its fleet of Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft and has cancelled 14 flights that were scheduled for today. It said that while a majority of passengers affected as a result of these cancellations had been accommodated by SpiceJet on alternate flights, the rest have been offered a full refund. "In order to cause least inconvenience to its passengers and also bring these aircraft to their maintenance base we expect to complete this exercise on or before 4 pm today," it said. SpiceJet has 12 Boeing 737 Max aircraft in its fleet.
