Review: Steven Spielberg’s ‘The Post’ is a movie about the past that speaks to our times

Film Critic “The Post” goes against the contemporary Hollywood grain. For another, there has already been an excellent Washington Post movie in “All the President’s Men.” Also, given that the Oscar-winning pro-journalism drama “Spotlight” came out just two years ago, the market wasn’t necessarily desperate for another one. Though Hanks’ Bradlee is obviously a key player, “The Post” is really about the professional coming of age of Streep’s Katharine Graham, the owner of the Post.
