Two panthers spotted on camera trap in Barwani

Two panthers were spotted on cameras on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday which were placed at Dhanora forest range in MP’s Barwani district, a forest official said. Photographs will help forest department officials substantiate their claim on the presence of panthers in the area as earlier they only depended on droppings and pug-marks. Sub-divisional officer DS Ningwal said that two panthers have been spotted by the trap camera installed by the department near Inayki village after a calf was killed on the night of April 4 in Inayki village. Outgoing district forest officer, Sendhwa, Ajay Kumar Pandey said that this is the first time that panthers have been trapped by hidden cameras in the division.
