Dutch happy with their lot, says new report

The economy is up, and so are the Dutch. A new report into social conditions in the Netherlands reveals that Dutch people continue to rate their lives at 7.8 out of 10. Most people feel healthy, life expectancy is on the rise and people generally feel more safe, according to the report by the SCP Netherlands Institute for Social Research. People’s high life satisfaction remains stable, 80% of the Dutch feel healthy and half exercise weekly, while crimes against people are down. This pattern was seen in a study last week on Dutch teenagers, which found they were still among the most contented in the developed world but were suffering from increasing pressure at school.
