2024, for Indian cinema, was quite eventful. Is it film reviews on YouTube and other social media channels, or is the content and its appeal to the target audience? Earlier, the Tamil Nadu Producers Council condemned 'personal attacks on actors' in the name of film reviews. The producer's council, in their four-page statement, claimed that big-budget films like Kamal Haasan's Indian 2, Suriya's Kanguva and Rajinikanth's Vettaiyan, were impacted because of negative reviews. Siddharth pointed out that producers indulge in influencer marketing, but blame social media for negative reviews.
