ED writes to UAE, UK seeking help to attach 20 properties of Iqbal Mirchi and family
India TodayThe Enforcement Directorate, which is investigating a case related to gangster and drug trafficker Iqbal Mirchi, has sent letter rogatory to courts in United Arab Emirates and United Kingdom for attachment of around 20 properties belonging to Mirchi and his family. Earlier this Monday the agency filed a chargesheet against 16 people in the case, including Iqbal Mirchi, his family members, aides and Dheeraj Wadhawan, who is the former promoter of DHFL. According to sources from the agency, Wadhawan held multiple meetings with Iqbal Mirchi and then finalised the deal for the three properties in Worli for around Rs 225 crore. As of now the agency has provisionally attached properties worth around Rs 600 crore belonging to Mirchi and his family members in Worli, Crawford Market and Lonavala.
